Hokusai Katsushika was an internationally renowned Ukiyo-e artist, featured at the Paris World Exposition in 1867, who influenced French Impressionists. The Sumida Hokusai Museum opened in 2016 in the Sumida district area, where Hokusai was born in 1760 and lived for most of his life until he passed away in 1849.
