Sustainable, socially conscious hotel

Trunk (Hotel) is an ethical boutique hotel located in Shibuya.

For those unfamiliar with the term, a boutique hotel is a relatively small-scale hotel with unique interior design and services.

It embraces the concept of “socializing,” which means promoting social issues, such as adopting environmentally friendly products and organic ingredients, providing support for organizations for people with disabilities in the Shibuya Ward, and holding LGBTQ events.

Since its opening in May 2017, the place has been bustling with various events, from exhibiting the latest fashion collections and art exhibitions to organizing gatherings where creative talents can mix and mingle.

The hotel has only 15 guest rooms but accommodates diverse needs, offering everything from single rooms to suites with terraces and kitchens.

In addition to the lobby lounge that functions as a café and bar, the hotel also has two restaurants, including a skewers restaurant, Trunk (Kushi). Customers can enjoy a variety of beverages while standing on the open terrace.

It also provides fashionable amenities, such as originally designed beach sandals made of recycled material instead of slippers, which customers find attractive.
